Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement EHR and EMR integrations with healthcare providers’ existing technology stacks.
- Architect and build reliable, high-volume backend systems supporting hundreds of thousands of patients.
- Develop and evolve secure, performant, and maintainable API integrations.
- Lead technical design discussions and engineering decisions from scoping through delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and conduct thorough, constructive code reviews.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Write documentation that scales knowledge across the Interoperability team and engineering organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience is required.
- 1–2+ years of experience building backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript is required.
- Expertise designing and working with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, is required.
- Ability to architect scalable, performant, and secure systems is required.
- Strong technical communication and constructive code review skills are required.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments and working autonomously is required.
- Ability to self-learn and adapt quickly to new technologies is required.
- Experience with EHRs and healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7 is preferred.
- Experience with high data volumes or uptime requirements is preferred.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and build systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with ExpressJS, GraphQL, React, React Native, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Datadog is preferred.
