Base Salary
$210k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and optimize production AI/ML systems for healthcare products and operational workflows.
- Develop LLM-powered applications using retrieval, structured generation, tool use, orchestration, and agentic workflows.
- Create AI-powered systems that automate complex, multistep operational processes.
- Own projects from problem definition and experimentation through development, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimization.
- Design evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, testing methodologies, and feedback loops to improve system quality and business outcomes.
- Translate complex business and operational requirements into scalable, production-ready AI solutions.
- Improve prompts, retrieval strategies, model selection, system logic, and application performance through experimentation.
- Contribute to AI infrastructure architecture, observability, testing, versioning, rollout safety, and operational reliability.
- Build solutions using structured and unstructured healthcare data while maintaining accuracy, privacy, security, and compliance.
- Help establish scalable AI-native practices and improve organizational productivity.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience building production software systems and delivering complex technical solutions.
- Experience building and operating applied AI, machine learning, LLM-powered, or agentic systems in production.
- Strong software engineering background with Python and backend systems supporting production-scale AI applications.
- Experience designing and interpreting experiments, evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or performance measurement systems.
- Ability to translate complex operational requirements and real-world data into reliable, scalable, shipped products.
- Understanding of production engineering practices including testing, monitoring, observability, system reliability, and safe rollouts.
- Product-oriented judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to drive initiatives from concept through deployment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, data, and operations teams.
- Preferred experience with AI products in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Preferred experience with healthcare data, clinical documentation, insurance claims, explainable AI, model fine-tuning, embedding models, vector databases, retrieval systems, AI evaluation platforms, document intelligence, decision support, workflow automation, or human-in-the-loop AI systems.
