Responsibilities
- Lead engineering architecture design reviews.
- Build services with strong availability and latency characteristics for a mission-critical platform.
- Set a high technical bar through code and architecture reviews.
- Mentor other engineers on the team.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated customer solutions.
- Improve engineering processes, including architectural strategy, sprint planning, and stand-ups.
- Improve operational excellence through metrics and observability dashboards, live-site debugging, and prevention of recurring issues.
- Design, develop, and deliver the Axon Alerts platform for ingesting events, enriching metadata, determining recipients, and delivering alerts across channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience designing and delivering highly available, scalable cloud-based systems.
- Backend service experience with multiple managed languages such as Java, Scala, Go, or C#.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL data stores, queue services, cache services, and/or gateway services.
- Interest in current software engineering and open-source technologies, with the judgment to evaluate emerging practices.
- Customer-focused approach and enthusiasm for novel technical challenges.
