Base Salary
$180k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site and remote technical deployments of LanceDB with enterprise customers.
- Write and maintain production-grade code in Rust and Python for customer integrations.
- Contribute code upstream to LanceDB’s core repositories, including bug fixes and new features.
- Capture and communicate structured product feedback from customer engagements.
- Integrate LanceDB into existing data and AI infrastructure stacks.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving distributed systems.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into platform capabilities.
- Deliver technical deep dives, workshops, and proofs-of-concept for customer organizations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a technical field or forward deployed engineering role.
- Willingness to be on-site at customers daily in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Proven experience with distributed, cloud-native databases or data platforms in production.
- Strong proficiency in Rust and Python for writing performant systems code.
- Familiarity with data infrastructure technologies like Apache Spark and Ray.
- Experience integrating databases with data pipelines and ML workflows.
- Ability to contribute directly to core product codebases.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts.
- Strong customer-facing skills to work with technical leaders.
