Responsibilities

Develop software and vision programs for turnkey manufacturing machine vision systems using Cognex VisionPro software and hardware.
Evaluate lighting and optics and create the imaging front end.
Integrate vision systems with robots and automation equipment, including calibration, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Install, support, qualify, and prepare machine vision systems for production at factory and manufacturing sites.
Develop reusable vision tools, calibration schemes, and vision program frameworks for other engineers.
Perform DOE design and data analysis to resolve difficult technical project problems.
Prepare standard operating procedures, status reports, and project updates.
Communicate with internal and external customers and attend project update meetings.
Provide supervision or guidance to team members at machine-builder and contract-manufacturer sites when needed.

Master’s degree in engineering, such as computer technology, automation, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
Solid knowledge and experience with machine vision systems.
Strong programming ability in C++, C#, or VB.
At least 5 years of automation equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and support experience.
Windows programming capability is preferred.
Machine vision project experience for overseas master’s graduates is welcomed.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
Ability to read and write English; spoken English proficiency is preferred.
Willingness to travel and work in factory environments, including potential assignments in the Shenzhen and Shanghai areas.

Travel and work at factory, machine-builder, and contract-manufacturer sites as project support requires.
The role may require working in a different city or region, including Shenzhen and Shanghai.
