Responsibilities
- Lead project execution by driving RFCs, HLD/LLD design documents, and execution plans.
- Design, build, and maintain highly concurrent, low-latency backend systems handling massive transactional throughput.
- Develop performance-optimized backend software using Ruby on Rails, Go, and related technologies.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries, database performance, and Redis cache-layer strategies while maintaining data consistency across microservices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, DevOps, and engineering teams on integrations and user experiences.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, review complex pull requests, and promote strong engineering practices.
- Identify system bottlenecks, resolve persistent infrastructure issues, and champion automated testing, observability, and CI/CD automation.
- Propose technical and organizational improvements while balancing feature delivery with long-term architectural stability.
Requirements
- 5 to 8+ years of intensive, non-internship professional software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails and robust proficiency in Go for high-performance APIs and multithreaded systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, concurrency control, and CAP theorem trade-offs.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, gRPC, MVC architecture, database design, and query performance tuning.
- Ability to balance reliability, scaling, security, usability, and other non-functional requirements.
- Ability to make technical decisions, set expectations, manage ambiguity, and handle stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field.
- Familiarity with additional backend technologies and frameworks is preferred.
