Base Salary
$140k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy Shipt’s foundational Agentic AI platform for real-time routing, pay, and coverage.
- Build and integrate LLM-powered autonomous reasoning loops, tool binding frameworks, and multi-agent orchestration into high-throughput microservices.
- Design AI architectures that integrate with existing production systems, real-time signal streams, and complex persisted data models.
- Manage agent lifecycle processes including registration, approvals, role-based access control, identity, and compliance standards.
- Design offline and online evaluations, reliability metrics, business-impact measurements, and human-in-the-loop escalation triggers.
- Monitor and optimize agent token utilization, cost per execution, and overall AI initiative ROI.
- Own production services and observability, including tracing and debugging of agentic reasoning chains.
- Lead technical discussions, drive consensus, deliver projects on time, and mentor staff and senior engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend software development experience architecting and operating high-throughput, multi-region distributed microservices.
- Experience coding in Python or Golang.
- Experience with SOA, microservices, and distributed architectures.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, communicate complex concepts clearly, drive consensus, and ensure delivery.
- Strong mentorship abilities for developing staff and senior engineers into future leaders.
- Experience building and deploying LLM-based systems beyond simple chat interfaces.
- Experience with prompt engineering, agent definition, tool binding, reasoning loops, memory systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Experience with agent FinOps, agent lifecycle management, evaluation strategies, and role-based access control.
- Proficiency with Google ADK, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar orchestration platforms.
- Familiarity with vector storage and retrieval for RAG or memory implementations.
- Experience integrating AI agents with real-time signals such as location, weather, and inventory.
- Experience with agentic tracing and debugging tools such as LangSmith or Langfuse.
- Preferred experience with machine learning and data science modeling and optimization techniques and DataDog observability tooling.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
