Base Salary

$152k - $209k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, develop, and debug software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices.
  • Write maintainable, tested production code with clear APIs and separated responsibilities.
  • Process numerical, time-series, statistical, signal, and scientific data.
  • Investigate performance bottlenecks and resource utilization using data and profiling.
  • Work across data ingestion, computation, services, APIs, and user-facing functionality.
  • Develop software documentation, test procedures, designs, experiments, and implementation decisions.
  • Troubleshoot software problems and communicate project requirements and technical tradeoffs to internal customers and domain experts.
  • Participate in testing, version control, code reviews, and collaborative software development.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python beyond prototype scripting.
  • Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, computational thinking, operating systems, memory, concurrency, data layout, I/O, networking, and performance.
  • Experience writing maintainable, tested code and contributing to production codebases, services, or tooling.
  • Ability to translate research papers, technical specifications, and ambiguous problems into working software.
  • Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, technical communication, documentation, ownership, and learning agility.
  • Preferred: a master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Preferred: research experience turning ideas into practical implementations.
  • Preferred: familiarity with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, service-oriented architectures, communication protocols, message queues, or distributed systems.
  • Preferred: experience with Rust, C++, or C and interest in systems programming, high-performance computing, profiling, optimization, or low-level debugging.
  • Preferred: experience with semiconductor manufacturing, plasma processing, spectroscopy, fault detection, endpoint detection, or noisy sensor and instrument data.
  • Preferred: experience with SQL, Arrow, Parquet, dataframe-based data pipelines, and large-scale data processing.
  • Preferred: willingness to contribute to front-end or visualization layers using TypeScript, React, Tauri, or Electron.
