Base Salary
$115k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product management, UX, QA, and engineering teammates to discover customer problems, assess solutions, and deliver product outcomes.
- Write, review, troubleshoot, and maintain production code while leading technical design decisions and managing tradeoffs.
- Break complex work into increments, coordinate dependencies, identify technical risks, and drive engineering execution.
- Improve testing, code review, release validation, CI/CD, automation, and other engineering practices.
- Guide responsible use of AI-assisted and agentic development workflows through verification, human oversight, and appropriate permission boundaries.
- Use meaningful measures and baselines to evaluate software quality, reliability, delivery, and customer outcomes.
- Lead cross-team engineering initiatives involving technical direction, shared standards, incident learnings, build-versus-buy decisions, and technical debt.
- Participate in on-call rotations and investigate, mitigate, and resolve production incidents.
- Mentor engineers and provide reviews and technical guidance to improve team effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7+ years of related experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, hands-on engineering work in collaborative product teams from discovery through delivery and operation.
- Strong technical judgment, problem-solving, design evaluation, tradeoff analysis, and technical risk management skills.
- Experience improving engineering practices and helping other engineers apply them effectively.
- Practical judgment using AI-assisted development tools, including verifying their work and identifying when human intervention is needed.
- Experience using data to assess technical decisions and improvements, or demonstrated analytical judgment and commitment to developing these practices.
- Clear communication, effective collaboration, independent execution, accountability, and willingness to surface risks and learn from failures.
- Strong experience building and operating production applications across the stack.
- Preferred experience with Angular, .NET, GraphQL, React Native, Expo, AWS, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL; comparable technologies are also considered.
