Base Salary
$150k - $284k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and roadmap for real-time drivers, embedded RTOS configuration, and shared platform middleware across vehicle programs.
- Develop and optimize real-time drivers, low-level embedded drivers, middleware, memory layouts, and common libraries for automotive microcontrollers.
- Architect and implement CAN, LIN, automotive Ethernet, SPI, and I2C networking stacks for reliable in-vehicle communication.
- Establish embedded coding, safety-critical design, and low-level software quality standards across the platform team.
- Apply ISO 26262 functional safety principles, ASIL requirements, and MISRA C practices to platform architecture and implementation.
- Collaborate with systems, application, hardware, safety, and V&V teams on platform and hardware-software interface designs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers on embedded architecture, functional safety, and low-level driver development.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Strong hands-on experience developing Embedded C software in accordance with MISRA C coding standards.
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety processes for embedded software architecture and development.
- Hands-on experience developing and debugging CAN, LIN, and other automotive communication protocols.
- Familiarity with embedded debugging tools such as JTAG and GDB.
- Proven experience configuring embedded RTOS and developing low-level embedded drivers and middleware for automotive-grade microcontrollers.
- Preferred experience with Renode, Bazel, CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, real-time control systems, automotive Ethernet, SPI, and I2C.
