Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize horizontally and vertically scalable distributed-system components.
- Develop high-volume data retrieval, storage, and processing capabilities using data plane platforms and distributed state management tools.
- Implement performance, load, functional, fault-injection, and brown-out testing.
- Build fault-tolerant systems with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, and timeouts.
- Create alarms, dashboards, telemetry, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures to detect and recover from failures.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues, participate in support rotations, incident response, and root cause investigations.
- Develop troubleshooting automation, tooling, and Infrastructure as Code for cloud infrastructure maintenance.
- Apply encryption, access controls, security remediation, change management, and compliance practices.
- Review team implementations for scalability and collaborate across teams to deliver shared objectives.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience designing and implementing distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or developer platforms is required by the role scope.
- Experience with scalability, resiliency, operability, replication, synchronization, failover, and large-scale data processing is required.
- Ability to implement performance and load testing, operational automation, monitoring, telemetry, and incident-response procedures is required.
- Knowledge of security controls including encryption and access management, as well as cloud compliance and documentation standards, is required.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot standard and non-standard issues, manage timelines, and collaborate across teams is required.
