Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and maintain large-scale security systems across Snap's ecosystem.
  • Research and improve security capabilities through new tooling.
  • Develop automation strategies to reduce manual alert triage.
  • Perform detection engineering across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Investigate alerts and incidents, including digital forensics, malware analysis, and threat intelligence.
  • Lead incident response for intrusion attempts and suspicious activity in collaboration with multiple teams.
  • Participate in red team exercises and threat simulations.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go.
  • Practical experience with BeyondCorp or Zero Trust security models.
  • Expertise in one or more detection and response areas, including digital forensics, malware analysis, incident response, intrusion detection, network telemetry, threat intelligence, or threat hunting.
  • Understanding of operating system internals and competency across at least two of macOS, Windows, and Linux.
  • Advanced cloud infrastructure knowledge and the ability to build, deploy, and investigate security events across at least two of Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in incident response, detection engineering, or related security disciplines.
