Responsibilities
- Own deployment of ML models and engineering surrogates, including deep learning on CAE, CFD, and FEA data, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, optimization, and control.
- Scope and architect data and ML systems, defining success metrics, delivery plans, and quality standards.
- Build robust and scalable ML systems, training and inference pipelines, and APIs for cloud and on-premises environments.
- Collaborate with data scientists, simulation engineers, and customers to define and solve engineering and physics challenges.
- Communicate results and trade-offs to senior stakeholders and influence technical roadmaps and product direction.
- Mentor and develop engineers and data scientists while providing calm, clear technical leadership.
- Translate R&D and project outputs into reusable libraries, tooling, and products.
- Scope new customer projects and participate in bringing new customers to PhysicsX.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of industry experience in a commercial, non-research environment after a Master’s or PhD.
- Experience shipping ML systems end-to-end and at scale.
- Ability to build and test reliable, scalable ML data pipelines and training and inference pipelines.
- Experience exploring and manipulating 3D point-cloud and mesh data for geometry-aware modeling.
- Strong software engineering and data science skills, including production deployment on cloud and on-premises environments.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, own complex workstreams, mentor engineers and data scientists, and provide technical direction.
- Ability to work directly with customers, communicate trade-offs to senior stakeholders, and influence roadmaps and product direction.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for an average of 3–4 weeks per quarter.
