Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Shopify themes, templates, sections, and responsive storefront functionality.
- Deliver customer and business features from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Provide Shopify production break/fix support by reproducing defects, debugging code and configuration, and implementing tested fixes.
- Troubleshoot Shopify-side order, product, pricing, inventory, fulfillment, return, and refund interfaces.
- Configure and maintain Shopify applications and third-party integrations while considering compatibility, performance, and customer impact.
- Review API and webhook behavior and escalate complex architectural or downstream issues with diagnostic evidence.
- Participate in pull-request reviews and established testing, Git, and deployment workflows.
- Test changes across supported devices and browsers and contribute to storefront performance, accessibility, technical SEO, and security.
- Collaborate with senior developers, product, UX, QA, and business partners to estimate and deliver work.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional web or software development experience with hands-on Shopify development.
- Working proficiency with Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript; TypeScript experience is beneficial.
- Experience developing or maintaining Shopify themes, reusable sections, and storefront components.
- Working knowledge of Shopify APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, metafields/metaobjects, and application integrations.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including taking well-defined issues through tested resolution.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, testing, and deployment workflows.
- Understanding of responsive design, basic web performance, cross-browser compatibility, and accessible development.
- Effective written and verbal English communication and ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team.
- Preferred: Shopify Plus or enterprise-scale Shopify experience.
- Preferred: exposure to Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensibility, custom applications, React, or Node.js.
- Preferred: experience supporting integrations with inventory, fulfillment, ERP, payment, or middleware platforms.
