Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable platform solutions using Python, object-oriented programming, and Spark.
- Build and enhance Azure data platform capabilities using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, Microsoft Fabric, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to define platform capabilities and evolve the Data Mesh Platform roadmap.
- Manage platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, operational stability, reliability, monitoring, troubleshooting, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Develop reusable data products that integrate and transform data for analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML models.
- Collaborate with data scientists, BI analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, technical standards, knowledge sharing, Agile/SAFe delivery, and sprint execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or data platform engineering.
- Practical experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, software architecture, algorithms, and data structures.
- Proficiency in Python and Spark, with advanced knowledge of Azure data services and frameworks.
- Ability to write well-designed, testable code and solve complex problems through debugging and root-cause analysis.
- Understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts and methodologies.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders, plus excellent spoken and written English.
- Preferred experience with C, C++, Java, or C#; streaming pipelines; Azure Event Hubs; Apache Kafka; Spark Streaming; Azure DevOps; Git; Terraform; DevSecOps; SAFe Agile; SAP BW; SAP BDC; Hadoop; and Hive.
- Databricks or Azure Data Engineer certification is preferred.
