Responsibilities
- Own the target architecture and technical direction for the SAP BW 7.5 on HANA landscape.
- Lead vendor knowledge transfer, documentation, validation, transition, shadow support, and handover activities.
- Translate planning and reporting requirements into scalable BW/HANA solutions across multiple ERP source systems.
- Review solution designs, estimates, performance approaches, transport strategies, and production readiness.
- Set engineering standards for BW objects, HANA models, SQLScript, extractors, transformations, and reusable frameworks.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of performance, data consistency, and integration issues across technical teams.
- Define modernization readiness and roadmap activities for BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, CDS Views, and SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Coach leads and developers, conduct design reviews, and serve as the technical authority during transition activities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of SAP data warehousing experience, including substantial hands-on SAP BW on HANA work.
- Proven experience as a solution architect or senior technical architect for a complex, business-critical global application.
- Advanced expertise in SAP BW 7.5 on HANA architecture, data modeling, extraction, BEx/AfO reporting, and performance optimization.
- Deep knowledge of BW-related ABAP, AMDP, HANA modeling, SQLScript, debugging, and custom extractors.
- Understanding of traditional BW objects and migration to HANA-optimized and BW/4HANA-compatible models.
- Integration experience across SAP ECC or S/4HANA, APIs, flat-file or database interfaces, and multi-ERP landscapes.
- Experience leading insourcing, vendor transition, major upgrade, migration, or platform modernization initiatives.
- Knowledge of architecture governance, technical documentation, non-functional requirements, security, and authorization.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to explain technical risks and options to business and leadership audiences.
- Preferred exposure to SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, CDS Views, SAP Business Data Cloud, and supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or global operations analytics.
- Preferred experience with web application and database integration patterns, including ClickHouse or Microsoft SQL Server.
