Responsibilities

Design, implement, configure, and maintain API gateway platforms and enterprise API management capabilities.
Implement API security and governance controls, including authentication, authorization, API keys, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mutual TLS, rate limiting, and throttling.
Monitor API gateway availability, latency, throughput, utilization, and platform health; troubleshoot production issues and participate in incident response.
Build infrastructure and deployment automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, alerting, and configuration management.
Collaborate with application development, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, security, and architecture teams on API integration solutions and platform modernization.
Review API designs, contribute to architecture discussions, mentor junior engineers, maintain technical documentation, and improve API standards and developer experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
2–3+ years of experience in API management, middleware, integration engineering, platform engineering, or related disciplines.
Hands-on experience administering enterprise API gateway platforms such as Kong, Apigee, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, IBM API Connect, MuleSoft, or WSO2.
Strong experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, XML, and API security and identity management practices.
Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, mutual TLS, and related API security controls.
Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Preferred experience with Istio, Linkerd, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Cloud, Kubernetes, API management, integration, or security certifications are preferred.
