Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery on a high-volume, high-availability platform.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and components of a large monolithic payment-processing application.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with Product, Platform, Merchant Services, and Support teams.
- Deploy production features with zero platform downtime and no impact to customers processing payments.
- Develop merchant onboarding and payment-processing capabilities using microservices, file-based card-brand integrations, and RESTful APIs.
- Build expertise in e-commerce payments and contribute to new product features.
- Use pair programming and test-driven development practices to support productivity and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant Java software engineering experience, excluding internships.
- Exceptional Java programming, SQL, software design, relational data modeling, and database schema design skills.
- Experience with microservices architecture, globally distributed services, and 24/7 support.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes and Kafka.
- Ability to derive requirements from high-level business goals and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Preferred experience with resilient, self-healing platforms and high-volume, low-latency transactional systems.
- Preferred experience with AWS, OpenShift, Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Harness, Snyk, SonarQube, Cucumber, Karate, Splunk, Sysdig, OpsGenie, OpenTelemetry, Instaclustr, Prometheus, JBehave, JGiven, Xmatters, ServiceNow, JUnit, and TDD.
- Pair programming experience or willingness to try pair programming is required.
