Responsibilities
- Lead the development and evolution of Terma’s SPECTRA Software Defined Radio modem and related satellite communication technologies.
- Design, implement, integrate, test, and verify DSP and digital communication algorithms across the full software development lifecycle.
- Develop communication algorithms and coding schemes for satellite TT&C, SATCOM, and 5G-NTN applications using technologies such as OFDM, spread spectrum, ranging, and interferometry.
- Integrate software with DSP, FPGA, RF, and hardware platforms and support RF test-system development and validation activities.
- Conduct technical studies and R&D activities focused on communications, RF, and signal-processing technologies.
- Contribute to technical proposals, product development initiatives, engineering documentation, and customer support during satellite ground-system integration, deployment, and operation.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Approximately 5 or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English; German is advantageous but not required.
- Advanced programming skills in C and solid knowledge of C++ and Python.
- Practical experience with DSP, digital communications, SDR, satellite communications, and RF principles.
- Experience with GNU/Linux development, software integration, requirements-driven and test-driven development, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, Bash, and Python scripting.
- Strong mathematical and physics foundation is highly desirable.
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering domains and communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, customers, and other stakeholders.
