Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use programming languages, databases, containers, orchestration services, and AWS tools to build software solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and performance improvement.
- Influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical communities and professional development.
- Lead cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: 3+ years with databases and database management systems, cloud technologies, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, or related engineering practices.
- Preferred: experience with open source frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, AI coding tools, interactive AI tooling, observability, and performance optimization.
- Preferred: at least 1 year mentoring engineers and driving professional development within technical teams.
- Preferred: experience establishing coding standards and design patterns across teams.
