Responsibilities
- Own the target architecture for the Travel ecosystem, including Multi-Currency Account, Nu Viagens, and eSIM integrations.
- Lead a multi-year architecture evolution plan, including migrations from legacy partner platforms and WebView experiences to API-based native experiences.
- Represent Travel engineering in cross-squad and cross-company forums covering infrastructure, APIs, platform commitments, and roadmap sequencing.
- Lead AI-first engineering practices, tooling, canonical contexts, and adoption across the squad.
- Co-create APIs, integration patterns, and operational models with external partners while managing partner SLAs, data limitations, and regulatory constraints.
- Navigate operational edge cases involving cancellations, schedule changes, foreign exchange, cross-border issues, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Risk/Fraud, and external partners to align urgency, platform capacity, controls, and revenue retention.
- Mentor engineers, strengthen engineering culture, write RFCs and design documents, and convert strategic direction into independently executable work.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a software engineer designing and evolving complex distributed backends and platform architectures.
- Proven ability to own target architectures across multiple products or squads and execute large-scale migrations.
- Strong experience with integrations and platform engineering, preferably in travel, e-commerce, marketplaces, or other multi-partner ecosystems.
- Ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity, external-partner dependencies, operational edge cases, and regulatory constraints.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in multi-stakeholder environments, including balancing product urgency, platform capacity, fraud/AML controls, and revenue retention.
- Excellent communication, inclusive decision-making, and trade-off evaluation skills.
- Experience mentoring and multiplying engineers and turning architectural strategy into RFCs, design documents, and guidelines.
- Practical experience using AI tools in engineering workflows and willingness to lead AI adoption practices such as ADLC, canonical contexts, and harnesses.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, residence in Brazil, and strong communication skills for global partner and cross-functional collaboration.
- Previous travel, OTA, hospitality, airline, or adjacent-industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience integrating third-party providers in complex, high-reliability customer journeys and experience with affluent-customer products or premium experiences are preferred.
