Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters for mission-critical business workflows.
- Architect distributed microservices and multi-tenant SaaS systems using cloud-native design patterns.
- Build and optimize data pipelines using REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, and synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven communication.
- Drive technical decisions, contribute to RFCs and architectural reviews, and mentor junior engineers on system design.
- Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and operational practices for deployed systems.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and SRE teams to deliver features, resolve incidents, and improve platform reliability.
- Apply code review, testing, security hardening, and performance optimization practices.
- Contribute to platform infrastructure and developer experience initiatives.
Requirements
- 7+ years designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems with high-throughput and low-latency requirements.
- 5+ years working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures in production, including tenant isolation, rate limiting, and resource management.
- Proven ability to drive system design, participate in architectural decisions, and mentor engineers.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and production incident diagnosis skills for distributed systems.
- Deep experience with microservices architecture, service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, plus familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless patterns.
- Expert-level Java 8+ experience, including object-oriented programming, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management, and the Java ecosystem.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Guava, Netty, REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Linux, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and Zipkin.
- Understanding of testing strategies, message delivery and stream processing, database consistency trade-offs, operating-system concepts, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong written and verbal communication, self-direction, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
