
Software Engineer – Backend Platforms, Assistant Vice President (Wealth Custody & Clearing)

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade software solutions for the Wealth Custody & Clearing platform.
- Build scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities supporting custody, clearing, onboarding, trading, servicing, reporting, and advisor workflows.
- Develop cloud-enabled, API-first solutions using secure coding standards and sound software design principles.
- Participate in technical design reviews, architecture discussions, engineering standards, Agile delivery, release readiness, deployment, and production support.
- Integrate with external fintech, custody, clearing, broker-dealer, and market infrastructure providers.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, resiliency, security, observability, auditability, data integrity, and operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, support root cause analysis, improve the platform, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years of software engineering, backend engineering, or application development experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Experience delivering business-critical applications in Agile software development environments.
- Hands-on experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience with cloud-enabled development, automated testing, software delivery tooling, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, messaging platforms, observability tools, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization is preferred.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or containerized application deployment is preferred.
- Financial services experience, particularly in wealth management, brokerage, custody, clearing, trading, fintech, advisor platforms, or transaction processing, is preferred.
- Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and support systems requiring high availability, fault tolerance, strong data integrity, documentation, security, controls, and production readiness.
