Base Salary

$84k - $141k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain prototype applications and proofs of concept using JavaScript, TypeScript, and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
  • Design and implement user experiences for web applications, digital cartographic visualizations, and interactive map-based workflows.
  • Prototype novel web-based maps, scenes, and spatial data visualizations.
  • Build targeted stand-alone web applications and reusable UI components with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Svelte, or Vue.
  • Collaborate with core development and SDK teams during release development sprints and provide feedback on APIs, beta capabilities, tools, workflows, documentation, and developer experience.
  • Explore WebGL and browser-based real-time visualization for advanced 2D, 3D, and multidimensional spatial experiences.
  • Stay current with JavaScript, TypeScript, complementary programming languages, development practices, coding tools, and user interface design techniques.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience developing web applications with JavaScript.
  • Experience with modern web application frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with code management systems and CI/CD.
  • Foundational understanding of digital cartography, data visualization, or geospatial application development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25–50%.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
  • Preferred familiarity with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS Experience Builder, or other Esri web technologies.
  • Preferred experience with WebGL, 3D visualization, or browser-based real-time rendering technologies.
  • A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field is preferred.
