Base Salary
$180k - $256k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build fleet orchestration, scheduling, manufacturing execution, data pipeline, and related software systems.
- Design and develop reliable, performant APIs and backend services integrating with AI-driven applications.
- Architect database schemas and manage SQL, NoSQL, and vector database systems for scalability.
- Implement and optimize backend services for performance, maintainability, reliability, high availability, and low latency.
- Build and deploy production systems on AWS using Kubernetes and modern infrastructure practices.
- Collaborate with robotics scientists, platform engineers, ML teams, data engineers, and product teams on scientific workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience building and deploying large-scale backend or data systems in production.
- Experience developing distributed software and data systems using Postgres, Flyte, Temporal, NATS/MQTT, and FastAPI.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants is required.
- Strong cross-functional communication, listening, ownership, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to balance scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Preferred experience includes scheduling software, manufacturing execution systems, operations research solvers such as OR-Tools, HiGHS, or Gurobi.
- Preferred cloud and DevOps experience includes AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, Terraform, CloudFormation, and GitHub Actions.
- Preferred familiarity with Python scientific, data, visualization, and machine learning libraries including pandas, polars, NumPy, SciPy, and PyTorch.
- Exposure to laboratory software or analytics for life sciences, materials sciences, or related fields is a plus.
