Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications and system integrations.
- Create and enhance automated test frameworks and scripts to improve test coverage, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and performance-related testing.
- Analyze test outcomes, identify defects, document findings, and support root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Establish and refine quality assurance standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain test documentation, defect logs, traceability records, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, product owners, and technical leads throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate quality, functionality, and release-readiness risks and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Assess tools, programming languages, frameworks, and systems for software quality and testing effectiveness.
- Support reliable software integration into broader technical environments, including data acquisition, processing, and scientific computation workflows where applicable.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of related experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or quality engineering.
- Experience developing and executing manual and automated test strategies for complex software systems.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, quality assurance processes, and defect management practices.
- Experience with test automation tools, test management platforms, defect tracking systems, and version control tools.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into effective test coverage and validation strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document defects, risks, and test results clearly.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD pipelines, API testing, database validation, performance or load testing tools, and iterative software development environments.
- Knowledge of regulated, high-availability, or data-intensive software environments is preferred; exposure to scientific, engineering, or computation-focused systems is a plus.
