Responsibilities
- Implement components of the team’s architecture plans and drive individual software projects from design through delivery.
- Write maintainable, structured, and testable code and participate in code reviews.
- Design systems for Amazon-scale problems and present design documents to build consensus.
- Maintain code quality, participate in on-call rotations, and improve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, SDMs, PMs, customers, and management to shape technical solutions and priorities.
- Mentor SDE-I engineers on coding practices and technical implementation.
- Review system health, research technologies, and root-cause customer-reported issues.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- 3+ years of video game industry experience supporting title development, release, or live operations.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience covering coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
