Base Salary
$138k - $187k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the enterprise observability architecture vision across microservices, distributed systems, and AWS environments.
- Design scalable telemetry pipelines for metrics, logs, traces, and events using observability platforms and frameworks.
- Establish reference architectures, design patterns, standards, governance models, and best practices for observability implementation.
- Integrate observability into platform services, internal developer platforms, and software development workflows.
- Partner with engineering, product, SRE, and DevOps teams to translate operational requirements into scalable architectures.
- Provide solution architecture guidance, lead design reviews, and create reusable documentation and implementation blueprints.
- Enable self-service observability while maintaining governance, security, regulatory, scalability, and cost-efficiency requirements.
- Improve mean time to detection and resolution, evaluate emerging technologies, and mentor engineers across teams and domains.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or solution architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale observability architectures in production environments.
- Expertise with modern observability platforms such as New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, or Coralogix.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures, preferably in AWS.
- Hands-on experience with observability pipelines and frameworks such as OpenTelemetry, Fluentd, Vector, or Logstash.
- Experience integrating observability into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of metrics, logs, traces, and events, including instrumentation strategies using APM agents and OpenTelemetry.
- Familiarity with PromQL, SPL, NRQL, or LogQL, and expertise building dashboards and visualization strategies for operational insights.
