Responsibilities
- Lead scaling initiatives for backend services and implement solutions to support growing traffic.
- Mentor and guide a small team of engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
- Design and build new Go services as business needs arise.
- Champion code quality improvements through better testing strategies and development tooling.
- Improve service reliability and uptime with robust monitoring and systemic issue resolution.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver solutions that meet requirements.
- Participate in technical planning and roadmap discussions to shape backend architecture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 4 years in production backend services using Go.
- Deep expertise with gRPC, including service design and performance optimization.
- Proven track record of scaling backend services for significant traffic growth.
- Strong understanding of service reliability practices, including monitoring and incident response.
- Experience with code quality standards through automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid grasp of distributed systems concepts like consistency models and fault tolerance.
- Proficiency with observability tooling for diagnosing production issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
