Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, low-latency backend services for ingesting, transforming, normalizing, and serving client, financial-position, and physical-position data.
- Build and operate custom data and risk feeds supporting personalized risk views, KnowRisk modeling, and Strategy Builder hedge recommendations.
- Process user data and usage signals for AI risk models and expose data through APIs and streams to downstream Nexus surfaces.
- Architect high-throughput, event-driven pipelines using Kafka and ActiveMQ for reliable asynchronous processing.
- Own data quality, lineage, entitlements, permissioning, encryption, auditability, and security for sensitive client data.
- Collaborate with Data & Analytics and Intelligence Weaving teams, participate in design reviews and agile ceremonies, and document system designs.
- Provide technical mentorship, make architecture and design decisions, and evaluate technologies including AI tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
- Strong experience building and operating high-throughput data-processing pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and normalization.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven messaging systems such as Kafka or ActiveMQ and asynchronous processing.
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL and/or PostgreSQL skills, plus NoSQL experience and the ability to design schemas and optimize queries.
- Experience designing scalable, performant, secure, and highly available RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud services, preferably Azure.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, performance, authentication, authorization, caching, logging, and security.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and English-language skills, with care in handling sensitive client data.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Preferred qualifications include risk management or financial-markets experience, AI/ML model integration, time-series data, data warehouses, ETL, data lineage, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and leadership or mentorship experience.
