Responsibilities
- Co-own portions of the product roadmap and backlog and help define and scope future product capabilities.
- Design, implement, maintain, and propose new product features from initial specification through production.
- Review pull requests and contribute to code quality and engineering standards.
- Improve codebase health by addressing technical debt and participating in dedicated housekeeping work.
- Collaborate with teammates to provide feedback, identify unknowns, and plan upcoming work.
- Operate and support backend services, ETL processes, and data pipelines in production.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or a similar field.
- At least 2 years of practical experience with Python, Spark, and PySpark.
- Experience building ETL processes and working with big-data technologies such as Pub/Sub.
- Familiarity with Terraform and CI/CD methodologies.
- Experience building or operating data pipelines in a production SaaS cloud environment.
- Ability to learn tools quickly, use AI effectively, and apply sound engineering judgment.
- Strong collaboration, independent contribution, communication, pragmatic problem-solving, and iterative development skills.
- A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience is a bonus qualification.
- Experience with C++ or C# and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform are bonus qualifications.
