Base Salary
$194k - $352k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines that convert data streams into targeted training datasets.
- Lead efforts to improve data quality, detect anomalies, and manage out-of-distribution examples for robust model training and deployment.
- Build ML data pipelines and products in collaboration with autonomy and data infrastructure teams.
- Develop tooling and visualizations for data introspection, model failure analysis, data querying, and distribution-shift analysis.
- Integrate with labeling operations by defining quality standards, automating quality control, and connecting model performance feedback to annotation guidelines.
- Operationalize active learning methods by building systems for large-scale inference and embedding computation, vector database management, and informative data-point sampling.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience architecting and delivering complex, multi-system ML data engineering systems with technical leadership.
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of end-to-end ML data pipelines and their interaction with model training and evaluation.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with petabyte-level data management experience.
- Experience turning data concepts such as uncertainty sampling into stable, 24/7 production services.
- Preferred experience working with productionized AI systems, large-scale machine learning data engines, workflow orchestration, data introspection UI/UX, and ML frameworks for foundation model training.
- Expertise in data-centric AI topics such as active learning and pre-training, preferably applied to autonomous systems.
- Subject matter expertise or research in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or Robotics, plus familiarity with ML for autonomous driving and data utilization.
