Base Salary
$200k - $298k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy and architecture across complex customer engagements, including decisions spanning multiple workstreams, services, and organizational boundaries.
- Build production AI systems and reusable reference architectures, including multi-agent orchestration frameworks, enterprise retrieval systems, and decision intelligence platforms.
- Remain hands-on with high-impact software development and code reviews while setting engineering direction.
- Establish operational standards, evaluation frameworks, and production-readiness criteria for AI systems across the FDE practice.
- Create accelerators and reusable platforms that expand AI adoption and reduce customer time-to-value across multiple organizations.
- Influence AWS product roadmaps through engineering insights and customer patterns.
- Set engineering excellence standards, handle escalations, guide senior technical talent, and participate in performance evaluations, interviews, hiring calibration, and promotion assessments.
- Represent the FDE practice with AWS VP-level leaders and customer C-suite executives.
- Travel up to 25%.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and a current, active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with Polygraph are required.
- At least 10 years of non-internship professional software development experience is required.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
- At least 8 years of experience leading the design and architecture of large-scale production systems in customer-facing or enterprise environments is required.
- Experience building production AI or ML platforms used across multiple products or customers is required.
- Experience with enterprise-scale agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, or AI system governance is required.
- Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, including executives or clients, is preferred.
- Executive-level engagement experience with SVP, VP, or C-suite stakeholders is preferred.
- A master's degree or above in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience creating reusable architectures or platforms adopted across an organization is preferred.
- Experience defining technical strategy and engineering standards as a principal engineer or technical lead influencing multi-team decisions is preferred.
- Experience influencing product roadmaps through engineering insights is preferred.
