Responsibilities
- Design and ship reliable, reusable systems for media processing, AI-generated assets, captions, localization, publishing, and quality control.
- Deliver large production projects and maintain key code repositories.
- Lead architecture and design reviews while balancing short-term and long-term technical trade-offs.
- Improve maintainability, availability, performance, observability, and developer tooling.
- Participate in operational response, incident analysis, and root-cause resolution.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners on roadmaps, technical strategies, and platform adoption.
- Integrate AI technologies into workflows and product features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of non-internship full-time professional software development experience.
- At least 4 years of experience with one or more software programming languages and 4 years across the full software development lifecycle.
- At least 3 years of experience with React JS and Node JS/TypeScript.
- At least 1 year of experience mentoring or leading junior team members and contributing to project planning and decision-making.
- Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LangChain, or LangGraph.
- Experience delivering large software projects or features in production.
- Strong backend and distributed-systems fundamentals, including resilience, availability, performance, capacity, consistency, and failure-mode analysis.
- Experience integrating large language models or generative AI services into production workflows.
- Experience with SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, service-health metrics, alerting, on-call practices, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with observability, caching, database performance, query and index tuning, connection pools, and capacity management.
- Experience with headless CMS integrations, webhooks, vendor adapters, content delivery networks, or publishing pipelines.
- Experience with durable workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal.
- Experience with media processing, adaptive bitrate video, text-to-speech, speech-to-text, or caption formats such as WebVTT.
- Experience with event streaming such as Kafka and CI/CD automation such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience in healthcare, privacy-sensitive, regulated, or high-trust environments.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers or serving as a technical lead for a platform, migration, or cross-functional launch.
