Responsibilities
- Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Applied AI Architects.
- Define and refine the Applied AI Architecture strategy and operating model across Japan.
- Partner with Sales leadership and Account Directors to prioritize accounts, opportunities, and technical resources.
- Own technical account plans, milestones, adoption priorities, account health, expansion opportunities, and portfolio outcomes.
- Lead complex customer journeys from executive vision and use-case qualification through solution evaluation, governance, production readiness, adoption, and measurable impact.
- Coach the team on AI, application, data, integration, identity, security, privacy, governance, evaluation, reliability, and deployment architectures.
- Build relationships with C-suite, board-level, and senior technical stakeholders while serving as an executive technical sponsor.
- Mobilize deployment, implementation, enablement, Product, Engineering, Research, Security, Legal, Privacy, and partner specialists to resolve blockers.
- Translate customer and field patterns into guidance and feedback for Product, Engineering, Research, and go-to-market teams.
- Promote responsible AI deployment, clear ownership, effective handoffs, and strong customer stewardship.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, solutions engineering, technical account leadership, AI deployment, or technical consulting, including work with large and complex enterprises.
- 4+ years of people-management experience hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing customer-facing technical teams.
- Deep technical acumen in modern AI systems, frontier models, agentic applications, platform technologies, software and cloud architecture, APIs, data integration, identity, security, privacy, evaluation, and enterprise deployment.
- Experience guiding enterprise organizations from technical discovery and evaluation through production adoption, healthy usage, and measurable business impact.
- Outstanding executive communication and presentation skills with credibility among CTOs, CIOs, CISOs, boards, business leaders, and engineers.
- Ability to lead complex portfolios, allocate resources, and balance regional strategy with hands-on support for critical engagements.
- Strong architectural judgment and ability to determine when to personally go deep, coach the team, involve specialists, and define ownership handoffs.
- Ability to build partnerships across Sales, Product, Engineering, Research, Deployment, Customer Engagement, Security, Legal, Privacy, and external partner ecosystems.
- Ability to lead across Japan from Tokyo and adapt to different industries, cultures, regulatory contexts, and customer operating models.
