Responsibilities
- Build and own platform services and internal tooling primarily in Go, from design through production.
- Improve developer experience by reducing friction in build, CI/CD, and release workflows and strengthening shared libraries.
- Help the firm adopt AI and coding-assistant tooling safely by integrating it into workflows and building guardrails.
- Collaborate with network and Linux engineers to expose infrastructure capabilities cleanly through software.
- Mentor teammates, share knowledge, conduct thoughtful code reviews, and raise engineering standards.
- Participate in on-call and troubleshoot issues spanning multiple technical domains and legacy infrastructure.
Requirements
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals and production experience owning services end-to-end; experience with statically typed languages is welcome.
- Comfort with Linux, including processes, networking basics, packaging, and systemd.
- Solid understanding of build systems, CI/CD, and release pipelines, with experience improving a monorepo or serious build and release setup.
- A track record of delivering and completing software projects without letting scope or polish stall delivery.
- Good written and verbal communication and a collaborative approach to working with non-developer engineers.
- Interest or hands-on experience with developer experience and AI or coding-assistant tooling is desirable.
- Experience with infrastructure or platform software such as inventory systems, monitoring, alerting, scheduling, container orchestration, or similar backend platform work is desirable.
- Experience designing APIs, managing schemas, and moving data reliably between systems is desirable.
- Infrastructure-as-code and cloud experience with Terraform and AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirable.
- Experience with hardware, networks, or datacenters is valuable but not required.
