Responsibilities

Improve the existing Java and Angular codebase to resolve production problems.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, including tuning SQL statements with execution explain plans.
Develop and maintain RESTful services, cloud microservices, and loyalty-platform integration points involving APIs, batch processing, and queues.
Participate in design sessions and collaborate with product owners and team members to satisfy acceptance criteria.
Document configuration and business logic rules and promote effective coding practices and patterns.
Coach and mentor other team members.
Estimate task and project scope and timelines accurately.
Develop simple solutions to complex problems and suggest process or component improvements.
Work effectively with other groups and third parties.

5+ years of experience designing and developing applications and components using Java and Spring, preferably with JDK 11+ and Spring Boot.
3+ years of experience developing RESTful services using JSON.
Experience developing cloud-based microservice applications using Oracle, AWS, or Azure.
3+ years of experience writing SQL multi-table queries, inserts, and updates, preferably with Oracle or PostgreSQL.
Experience tuning SQL statements using execution explain plans.
Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Kafka Streams is preferred.
Experience building Docker containers and configuring Kubernetes clusters, including kubectl and Docker for Desktop, is preferred.
Experience with Bitbucket/Git, Gradle, and Bamboo build-management tools is preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
Experience developing loyalty, accounting, or banking applications is preferred.
