Base Salary
$195k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-quality, scalable systems and shared libraries used by multiple engineering teams.
- Partner with product engineering teams to understand needs and translate them into well-documented APIs and services.
- Drive technical decisions and influence architecture across team boundaries, with emphasis on developer experience and platform scalability.
- Define and uphold standards for consistency, performance, and security across shared components.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning to raise engineering quality.
- Write and maintain documentation that enables engineers to use and contribute to shared systems and libraries.
- Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture as the organization scales.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience, focused on platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.
- Experience building shared APIs, services, or platform components used by multiple engineering teams.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queue systems such as Kafka, SQS, or pub/sub.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
- A track record of shipping high-quality, maintainable code and making sound architectural decisions.
- Curiosity and willingness to use AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
