Base Salary
$195k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable shared customer-facing platform components or internal abstractions and libraries.
- Partner with product engineering teams to understand needs and translate them into well-documented APIs and services.
- Drive technical decisions and influence architecture across team boundaries, with emphasis on developer experience and platform scalability.
- Define and uphold standards for consistency, performance, and security across owned systems.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning.
- Write and maintain documentation that enables engineers across the organization to use and contribute to shared systems and libraries.
- Contribute to Vanta’s engineering culture as the company scales.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience, focused on platform, shared infrastructure, or developer-facing systems.
- Experience building shared APIs, services, or platform components used by multiple engineering teams.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or message queue systems such as Kafka, SQS, and pub/sub.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
- Track record of shipping high-quality, maintainable code and making sound architectural decisions.
- Curiosity and sound judgment in using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
