Responsibilities
- Own automation coverage for squad services.
- Build and maintain fast-turnaround regression suites that gate weekly deployments.
- Detect, isolate, and report failures rapidly with actionable root-cause information.
- Perform load, stress, and soak testing against latency and throughput targets.
- Test event-driven systems, WebSocket flows, and browser extensions, including ordering, race conditions, and real-time state.
- Integrate tests into trunk-based CI/CD and manage flaky tests.
- Perform contract and API testing between services.
- Generate synthetic data and traffic, including simulated calls, event streams, and audio.
- Test AI outputs using evaluation-style assertions for nondeterministic LLM/ML features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of SDET experience.
- Strong automation coding experience in Go or Python rather than manual testing scripts.
- Expertise isolating failures to services, commits, or events and performing root-cause debugging.
- Experience designing parallelized regression suites, smart test selection, and rapid test-result reporting.
- Experience with load, stress, and soak testing of high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Experience testing event-driven systems, WebSocket flows, and browser extensions.
- Experience with contract/API testing, synthetic data, and synthetic traffic generation.
- Experience integrating automated tests into trunk-based CI/CD and managing test flakiness.
- Strong plus: experience evaluating nondeterministic LLM/ML outputs.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing technologies and work collaboratively with development teams.
