Base Salary
$191k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative solutions for scaling Reddit.
- Build platform API projects that can scale across the organization.
- Build, deliver, and operate services handling hundreds of thousands of transactions per second with 5+ nines of availability.
- Optimize Reddit’s media experience, including media performance, scalability, and delivery across the stack.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers on the team.
- Collaborate with teams to develop a roadmap for the growing engineering organization.
Requirements
- Experience developing software in Go or Python.
- At least 5 years of experience with large-scale, mission-critical distributed systems.
- Familiarity with API platform service architectures.
- A history of building clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Expertise in media delivery from backend systems to users, including optimizing media performance, scalability, and delivery.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-technical audiences in a fully remote environment.
