Base Salary
$204k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the catalog platform architecture, including service design, data modeling, API contracts, and technology choices.
- Lead the catalog modernization effort, including technical scoping, migration strategy, risk management, and execution.
- Write production code, build proofs of concept, and validate architectural decisions through working software.
- Set technical standards, drive code reviews and architecture reviews, and resolve cross-cutting dependencies across teams.
- Establish and evolve the AI-driven SDLC golden path, including shared standards, Claude Code skills, guardrails, and automation patterns.
- Lead complex multi-team technical initiatives and align peer Principals, Engineering Managers, and cross-functional partners.
- Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the engineering organization.
- Represent engineering in discussions with product, data science, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Document architectural decisions in the shared organizational knowledge base.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience at the senior, staff, or principal individual-contributor level.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to ship production systems.
- Experience designing and evolving large-scale distributed systems, including APIs, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, or high-traffic platforms.
- A track record of driving architectural standards, technical roadmaps, or platform initiatives across multiple teams or organizations.
- Deep backend engineering experience with C#/.NET, Go, Java, or Python at production scale.
- Experience designing data models and APIs for high-volume catalog, inventory, or e-commerce systems.
- Ability to contribute meaningfully to frontend development with React or an equivalent technology and own backend-to-UI architectural decisions.
- Experience leading a large-scale platform modernization or rewrite, including migration strategy and risk management.
- Experience working in distributed teams across the US, China, and Latin America.
- Strong communication, organization, judgment, troubleshooting, and consensus-building skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Experience with Google Business Suite, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms, is preferred.

- The expected base salary range is $204,000.00–$260,000.00 USD.
