Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production machine learning pipelines for data ingestion, training, validation, and deployment.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ML training and inference, including memory consumption, online latency, and training time.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate ML solutions into products and services.
- Work with data scientists to transition research prototypes into scalable production solutions.
- Collaborate with MLOps and platform teams on current and future tooling.
- Support and encourage strong engineering practices on product ML teams.
- Take the lead on projects from ideation through deployment and communicate complex outcomes to diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer working in machine learning.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Experience with the full machine learning model lifecycle in production environments.
- Experience using big data to build pipelines that provide appropriate data to models.
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, data engineering, and MLOps principles.
- Knowledge of data science, statistics, and machine learning techniques.
- Familiarity with Python data science tools such as Spark, Trino SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, Pandas, MLflow, and Airflow.
- Experience with ML infrastructure tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Airflow, Argo Workflows, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience with distributed GPU compute environments is preferred.
- Experience working with a machine learning feature store is preferred.
- Ability to take initiative, work experimentally, lead projects, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
