Responsibilities
- Lead program-wide current-state and target-state software architecture for modernizing legacy medical logistics applications.
- Define architecture standards, patterns, guardrails, paved-road development practices, and modernization roadmaps.
- Guide migration of Oracle and .NET applications to containerized microservices and modern distributed architectures.
- Provide architectural direction for Azure cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, shared services, automated testing, security, and software releases.
- Maintain hands-on involvement through prototypes, reference implementations, design reviews, code reviews, and complex technical problem resolution.
- Mentor software engineers and technical leads while promoting architectural consistency and evaluating exceptions to standards.
- Apply Domain-Driven Design, including domain decomposition, bounded contexts, service boundaries, and integration patterns.
- Support SAFe System Architect responsibilities, including architectural runway, architectural enablers, and technical alignment across the Agile Release Train.
- Coordinate technical architecture with DoDAF modelers, the Chief Data Officer, subject matter experts, and enterprise architecture stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions address DevSecOps, cybersecurity, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, compliance auditing, and secure software development requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a NACLC clearance.
- Hands-on experience developing software solutions for complex business operations.
- Experience leading migrations of complex web-based applications from legacy systems to modern technology stacks.
- Experience with C#, .NET MVC, Angular, or comparable modern enterprise application technologies.
- Experience with Oracle databases, .NET Web Forms, PostgreSQL, containerized microservices, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with version control and development tools including Git, TFS, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps Server, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, cloud infrastructure, containerization, work item management, static code analysis, and application security tools.
- Experience with Azure DevOps Server, Jenkins, Jira, SonarQube, or Fortify is preferred or beneficial.
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design and SAFe or another scaled Agile environment is beneficial.
- Prior DoD or government contracting experience is preferred; military medical supply chain experience is a significant plus.
