Responsibilities
- Own architecture and technical decisions for LVT’s embedded camera platforms.
- Architect software running on edge devices and infrastructure for camera encoding, video storage, streaming, and retrieval.
- Serve as the primary technical authority across JDM partners, third-party software vendors, and internal hardware teams.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Hardware, Product Management, and Software teams to deliver products from edge to cloud.
- Lead architecture and code reviews, complex schedule planning, and engineer mentorship.
- Direct the integration of on-camera analytics and deployment of models to SoC inference accelerators while managing memory, latency, and accuracy trade-offs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of total experience with a proven track record as a Staff or Senior Staff Embedded Software Engineer.
- Deep expertise in embedded Linux, including BSP, device drivers, HAL, bootloaders, system bring-up, and custom Yocto distributions.
- Foundational understanding of low-level hardware and MCU/RTOS environments.
- Expert-level proficiency in embedded C and C++; experience with Go is a plus.
- Experience debugging complex hardware/software interactions with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
- Comprehensive experience with video, audio, image processing, and streaming systems, including H.264/H.265.
- Demonstrated success leading technical outcomes in a JDM framework and managing vendor capabilities and partner engineering standards.
- Experience architecting edge-based camera analytics and deploying resource-efficient computer vision or Edge AI models.
- Recognized technical authority who can shape engineering culture, drive schedule planning, and mentor engineers.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for design, coding, and automated testing.
