Responsibilities
- Define and implement automation strategies across e-commerce, mobile applications, APIs, backend services, and third-party integrations.
- Establish automation for regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end testing and define quality KPIs and release-readiness standards.
- Build scalable UI and API automation with Playwright, JavaScript/TypeScript, Postman/Newman, and Karate.
- Own automation strategy for iOS and Android applications and establish device and browser coverage using cloud testing platforms.
- Validate service integrations, databases, messaging, inventory, pricing, order management, payment, and fulfillment workflows.
- Implement contract testing, integration testing, parallel and distributed execution, and CI/CD quality gates.
- Develop AI-first QA capabilities including test-case and test-data generation, regression optimization, failure triage, prompt validation, hallucination testing, and response-quality testing.
- Evaluate and implement AI-assisted testing tools and agentic automation, including Playwright MCP.
- Mentor QA engineers and establish reusable frameworks, engineering standards, and quality best practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of quality assurance experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience designing scalable automation frameworks, including Page Object Model or component-based automation.
- Experience with parallel execution, distributed testing, CI/CD integration, API automation, and AI-powered test generation.
- Working knowledge of AI development and QA tools such as GitHub Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or open-source LLMs.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, AI agent testing, MCP, AI-assisted debugging, root-cause analysis, and agentic QA automation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
- Preferred: retail technology or e-commerce QA experience, retail POS or e-commerce platform experience, and ISTQB or other relevant testing certification.
