Base Salary
$187k - $253k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver new features and improve the reliability of core services supporting customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination.
- Identify system bottlenecks and business-logic flaws and proactively implement solutions.
- Design and implement distributed, multi-tier systems with storage, caching, and application layers.
- Lead complex system transformations and phased migrations from monoliths to microservices.
- Work across the stack to solve complex user problems independently.
- Lead a team of developers and communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and advocate for sound engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of related experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java, Python, or a similar modern programming language.
- Demonstrated delivery of high-impact software solutions in professional settings.
- Experience designing distributed systems, including storage, caching, and application layers, with an understanding of failure modes.
- Verifiable experience with microservice architectures in high-throughput and low-latency systems.
- Experience with system transformations and complex, multi-phase systems migrations.
- Expert-level proficiency in cloud engineering paradigms, high-scale asynchronous systems, and secure service integration patterns.
- Deep understanding of design patterns, reliability, scaling principles, architecture, and system design.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical teams, or serving as a tech lead.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence technical direction.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies, including AI and automation tools.
- U.S. citizenship is not required; no certifications are required.
