Responsibilities
- Translate complex functional requirements into technical requirements and maintain a coherent development strategy for the product line.
- Design, develop, and maintain complex, scalable, and extensible backend systems and applications.
- Own the overall software development lifecycle and deliver high-quality solutions on time and on budget.
- Adopt and evolve software engineering practices and tools within the organization.
- Evaluate current technology developments and open-source offerings to solve business problems.
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to provide efficient and robust solutions.
- Drive and manage the bug triage process.
- Report product delivery and quality status to management, customer support, and product teams.
- Drive discussions to improve the product, processes, and technology.
- Provide end-to-end solutions and design details and lead formalized solution methodologies.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Java backend development.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Sound understanding of object-oriented programming and excellent software design skills.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, RESTful services, and J2EE or Java Spring Boot application and API development.
- Strong understanding of database design and SQL development with MySQL or MariaDB.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other queueing systems.
- Passion for working in a startup-like environment.
