Responsibilities
- Implement drivers, subsystems, and middleware in C for new NXP microcontroller devices.
- Create Zephyr support using device trees, DTS bindings, and Kconfig.
- Bring up boards and SoCs, including clocks, pin multiplexing, power, boot, and memory maps.
- Write samples and tests for embedded software.
- Contribute upstream through pull requests, code reviews, RFCs, and CI fixes.
- Diagnose low-level issues using debuggers, traces, and logic analyzers.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams and the open-source community.
Requirements
- Practical experience with embedded programming in C and an interest in working close to hardware.
- Solid understanding of microcontroller architecture fundamentals.
- Analytical problem-solving ability and reliable debugging skills for embedded targets and low-level software.
- Familiarity with standard software development workflows, processes, and best practices.
- Working knowledge of Git or other version control tools.
- Effective written and spoken English communication.
- Preferred experience with MCUXpresso or a similar silicon-vendor ecosystem.
- Preferred experience with Zephyr, including device trees, Kconfig, and west.
- Preferred knowledge of SPI, I²C, UART, I²S, and SDIO interfaces.
- Preferred experience developing or testing embedded microcontroller software and working with real-time operating systems.
- Rust knowledge is a plus, as are scripting languages such as Python and build tools such as make.
