Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision, roadmap, architecture, governance, and operating model for GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, Nexus Repository, CI/CD platforms, and developer productivity services.
- Design and implement enterprise CI/CD standards, reusable workflows, templates, automation frameworks, self-service onboarding, and repository governance practices.
- Lead migration and modernization initiatives involving legacy CI/CD platforms, repository consolidation, pipeline standardization, and artifact and package management.
- Develop migration-factory practices covering inventory, complexity assessment, wave planning, automation, testing, and cutover strategies.
- Establish software supply chain security, secrets management, identity and access management, OIDC, dependency management, SBOM, artifact provenance, auditability, and DevSecOps standards.
- Design reliable and scalable architectures for GitHub runners, Azure DevOps agents, repositories, package management, and supporting infrastructure.
- Define observability, monitoring, alerting, operational KPI, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement practices for platform services.
- Operationalize GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted engineering through enablement, governance, licensing, consumption visibility, budget oversight, and adoption guidance.
- Mentor engineers, architects, and platform teams; lead design reviews and architecture governance; and advise technical and executive stakeholders.
- Manage vendor engagement for GitHub, Azure DevOps, Nexus, and related services, including roadmap alignment, support escalations, licensing, renewals, and value realization.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, cloud engineering, or software delivery platforms.
- Proven experience architecting and operating enterprise-scale GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps environments.
- Deep expertise in CI/CD architecture, pipeline engineering, software delivery modernization, source control management, repository governance, release management, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience leading large-scale platform transformation and migration initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, reusable workflows, templates, and automation frameworks.
- Strong scripting and automation experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Experience operating artifact management platforms such as Nexus Repository or equivalent solutions.
- Strong understanding of software supply chain security, secrets management, dependency management, DevSecOps, and secure-by-design engineering.
- Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable platform architectures.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, mentoring, and technical and executive influence skills.
- Preferred qualifications include regulated-enterprise experience; GitHub Enterprise Cloud, on-premises and cloud runner experience; Azure cloud, identity, governance, networking, and security experience; Kubernetes and container-platform experience; GitOps familiarity; observability-platform experience; and experience with .NET, Java, Python, Node.js, containerized workloads, and mainframe-integrated delivery pipelines.
- Industry certifications related to GitHub, Azure, DevOps, cloud architecture, security, or platform engineering are preferred.
