Base Salary
$179k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers working on distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Build robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks with architects.
- Refactor systems, reduce technical debt, improve performance, and evaluate emerging tools and practices.
- Mentor engineers and influence long-term technology strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 7+ years coding in multiple listed languages, 3+ years with databases and cloud technologies, and experience with open source frameworks.
- Preferred qualifications include front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred experience includes cloud troubleshooting, AI-based coding tools, observability, mentoring engineers, leading cross-functional initiatives, and enforcing coding standards and design patterns.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: $179,400–$204,700 in Chicago and $215,200–$245,600 in New York.
